JOHN MOLTER 1912 - 2009 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Molter on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital, Stonewall, Manitoba. Remaining to forever cherish John's memory are his loving daughter Marsha (Norm) Carrothers, grandson Marc L'Heureux, (special great-grandson Daniel Buckle), special son Bill (Marion) Molter and brother Jacob Molter. He was predeceased by his wife Helen, his parents, all his sisters and one brother. John was born in Winnipeg and moved with the family to the Stonewall area as a baby in 1912, settling on the family farm. He attended Rockwood School and made lifelong friends there. His parents passed away young and John survived on the farm with his younger sister Mary and brother Jacob until he acquired his own property. In 1937 he married Helen Bolonchuk and together they built a successful dairy and grain farm. During these years John was actively involved with Rockwood Victoria Coop Ltd, Manitoba Pool Elevators, Canadian Cooperative Implements Ltd. (CCIL) and Red River Cooperative Ltd. Retiring from the dairy operation in 1967 John continued with the grain farm until 2000. As a young couple, John and Helen enjoyed going to dances at the country schools and gatherings with friends, neighbours and family. John also enjoyed playing chess, cribbage and shuffleboard. He made many friends from the USA who came to stay with him and go hunting. John was a man of integrity and a loving, patient, kind father and grandfather. Marsha and Marc will always remember his special ways of teaching, his good heart and love for life. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. James Bardsley will officiate. Interment will follow in Stonewall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Special thanks to all the nurses at Stonewall Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. Thank you to Dr. Venter for his care over the years and to Vera Appleyard of Palliative Care. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
