RETA MARGARET COCKRIELL (WATTS)

RETA MARGARET COCKRIELL (nee WATTS) Peacefully with her daughter Heather by her side, Reta passed away early Monday morning, November 30, 2009, at Deer Lodge Hospital, Floor 6W, at the age of 85. Reta leaves to mourn her children, Heather Klym, Dale and Mal Gutknecht, Pat and Larry Stright, Bill and Helene Cockriell, Grant Morgan and Tracy and Dave Paradis; grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Peter, daughter Lynn Morgan and son-in-law Andy Klym, her parents and all her siblings, her husband's parents, sister and brother-in-law. Reta was born May 18, 1924 in Prince Edward Island. She married Peter on April 10, 1945 and together they resided in East Kildonan (Winnipeg). She enjoyed having all her children over for Sunday dinners, especially to enjoy her delicious desserts. As well, Reta loved to spend time at their cottage in Grand Beach. There she played card games with her friends. Special thanks to doctors, nurses and staff at Deer Lodge Hospital on 6W for their kind and compassionate care of Reta over the year; her roommates, Karen and Priscilla who watched over her; Dr. Isaac, her longtime family doctor. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Reta's life will be held by the immediate family at a later date. Interment will take place at Glen Eden. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Reta's memory to Deer Lodge Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., 6th floor, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3, or to a charity of your choice.
