Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT FORD LIDSTONE July 19, 1943 December 2, 2009 It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Bob on Wednesday, December 2, after a brief and unexpected illness. Remaining to forever cherish and honour Bob's memory are the love of his life , Jennifer; daughter Lara (Paul) and grandson Michael; son Robert; daughter Marnie; stepdaughter Jackie; and sister Anne. Also left to mourn Bob's passing are many friends, especially Charlotte and Peggy who each shared special years with Bob. Bob was a loving, caring, compassionate man with wide-ranging interests and talents. He was dedicated to making a contribution through his career as a nuclear physicist with Atomic Energy Canada (AECL). In retirement he found great enjoyment in pursuing his faith journey, music endeavours, construction projects, experiences with friends and quality time with family. His extensive personal library is a lasting tribute to Bob's life-long love of learning. According to Bob's wishes, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road at Lyon. The family would like to express appreciation to everyone who provided support through cards, phone calls, visits and donations of food. We especially thank Barbara Fast, Phyllis and George Gillespie, and Delcy and Jules Selymes for their never-failing support and love during Bob's hospitalization. We also say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff on Unit 6E at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Fort Garry United Church Building Fund (800 Point Rd., Winnipeg, R3T 3L8) or to a charity of your choice.
