Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINGEBORG WIEBE (nee RENZ) July 17, 1923 December 3, 2009 Our mother, Ingeborg Wiebe passed away peacefully on December 3, 2009 in Winnipeg. Inge is survived by her daughter Renate, grandchildren Chelsea (Chris) and Nikki (Rob), great-grandchildren Amy and Jason; daughter Gudrun (Andy), grandchildren Matthew (Jill) and Caitlin. Inge was born in Plauen, Germany where she worked briefly as a bookkeeper. She arrived in Canada in 1951 where she and her loving husband Heinrich made a new life for themselves in Elmwood. Inge was a consummate homemaker, who took pride in her home and in looking after her family. She was an expert seamstress who loved music and reading. The dedication to family continued as the grandchildren arrived. Saturday afternoon baking now included having the grandkids create their own breads, cinnamon buns, and cookies. No Christmas concert, gymnastics event, football game or piano concert was missed and the grandchildren had their biggest fan with Oma in the audience. Her title of Oma was treasured and she became Oma to all who were touched by her life. Heinrich predeceased her in 1992 and in 2001 Inge moved into her condo, which she loved. She enjoyed an enviable 86 years of good health and independence. Many family members in Germany will also miss their Tante von America . Mama, we will miss you, but know that you are once again reunited with your Liebling. Funeral service will take place at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Viewing prior to the service. Donations may be made to Seven Oaks General Hospital Research Foundation or Women's Health Clinic or the charity of your choice.
