Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE (EMILY) KEMP (nee VANSTONE) On December 1, 2009, surrounded by love and cradled by God, Mrs. F. Emily Kemp, aged 90, passed peacefully from the arms of her earthly family into the arms of her family in Heaven to dwell with her beloved Saviour forever. Emily was born in Winnipeg September 14, 1919 to Samuel Martin Vanstone and Ellen (Pugsley) Vanstone. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Edward Kemp; children Don, Allan, Bob (and Pat), and Joan; grandsons, James and Jeff; siblings, Bert (and Belle) Vanstone, Stanley Vanstone, Muriel (and Leslie) Knight; and brother-in-law Bob Evans. Emily is survived by her son Jim (Mary) Kemp; daughter-in-law Carol Kemp; son-in-law Jim Wolf; grandchildren, Rick Kemp, Thomas Kemp, Cheryl (Peter) Rudnicki, Heather (Blair) Kelly, Charlene (Ward) Penny, Tammy (Chris) Van Steelant, Laureen (Grant) Penny, Donna Hartle (Rodney Cooper), Greg (Rachel) Kemp, Barb (Kevin) Tatum, Jodi (Cam) McGill, Kevin Side (Allison Lang), Sandra Kemp (and friend RJ Dempster), Doug (Charlotte) Kemp and Donald Kemp; as well as, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Verna Evans, Marty (Joan) Vanstone, Rob (Joan) Vanstone; and numerous nieces and nephews. All relationships were cherished by Emily and she will be deeply missed by her dear friend Jackie Smith, her large church family, and her friends at Lions Place. She touched so many people with her genuine acceptance and compassion and her ability to make each one feel valued and special. These gifts were especially felt when she filled the role for many as mother when their own mother was gone. Her family and friends treasured her unconditional love, her commitment to building harmony and her encouragement towards peace between one another. Her grandsons are honoured to serve as her pallbearers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2009 in the Central Church of Christ, 170 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue.
