Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY IDA FAYE BRUCE July 29, 1964 - December 1, 2009 It is with great sorrow the family announces the sudden passing of our Mom and Granny Ida Bruce on December 1, 2009, near Camper, MB. Ida leaves to mourn her dad Glen Bruce; three children Rene (Sharon Evans) Bruce, grandchildren Tyson, Tannis, Myren, son Trevor and grandchild Mareena, son Robyn and grandchild Janessa; one brother Michael Bruce of Winnipeg; her uncles Alex Bruce of Pinaymootang, David Bruce and Bert Sumner of Winnipeg; her aunts Irma Sumner of Pinaymootang, Bertha Sumner of Winnipeg who used to babysit her when she was young, Muriel Woodford, Elsie Bruce of Winnipeg, special friend Denis, her puppy Pretty and her cat Dixie along with many cousins in Winnipeg, Pinaymootang and Little Saskatchewan First Nation. Cousins she introduced as sisters and loved very much are Ruth Lacquette (Josh Dumas) of Winnipeg, Dee (Alex) Houle of Pinaymootang, Stella (John) Woodford of Pinaymootang, Linda (Colin) Sanderson of Pinaymootang, Betty Sinclair of Lake St. Martin, Karen Letander and family of Winnipeg, Rita (Alan) Letander of Pinaymootang, Shirley Sanderson of Pinaymootang, Stella Woodhouse of Pinaymootang, Laverne Sumner, Jackie Sumner of Winnipeg; nieces Sherry (Ryan) Anderson of Winnipeg, Farrah Bruce of Winnipeg, Vanessa Redford and family of Selkirk, Sheena (Elvis) Bruce of Winnipeg, Teanna Bruce; niece Jessie Woodford; nephews Kevin Bruce, Devin Bruce of Pinaymootang, Johnny Beardy, Gavin Bruce of Winnipeg, Nathan Bruce and siblings; sister-in-law Andrea Bruce and family of Sagkeeng; cousin's Leonard (Susie) Lacquette and family, Audie Peebles (Tanya Couchane) and family, Clayton (Jolene) Peebles, and family all of Sagkeeng, Errol Peebles and family of Pinaymootang and Jason Peebles and family of Winnipeg, Vernon and Darren Bruce and families of Winnipeg, Jody Bruce and family of Winnipeg, Wilfred (Esther) Bruce and family, Richard Sumner, Anthony Sumner and Eric Sumner all of Pinaymootang, Fred Sumner of Winnipeg and Hector Sumner of Little Black River, Edward (Doreen) Thompson and family, Leslie (Caroline) Thompson and family, Jeffrey (Eliza) Thompson and family, Nilus Bruce (Skeeter Paul) and family, Edmond (Delores Woodhouse) Bruce, Melissa Bruce and family, Theresa Bruce and family, Alfred Bruce and Dakota Bruce, Mary Bruce and family of Winnipeg, Milly Gould and family, the Stagg family, Celeste Woodford and family along with many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Mary Bruce; sisters Sheila Bruce, Denise Chase; brother Harold Bruce (Big Man); her aunts Mary Lacquette and Christina Anderson; uncles Alfred Bruce Sr. and Joe Alex Sumner; grandparents Adolafus and Lilly Sumner of Little Saskatchewan and Alex and Ida Bruce of Pinaymootang. Ida, who believes in God, was a loving person who loved to laugh, joke and even go along with a joke. She attended church, loved visiting with family and friends whenever she had time. Ida was visiting her Dad and family when the accident happened. She lost two sisters, one brother, her mother and grandmother which was very painful for her. Ida attended Pinaymootang School for elementary and into her teen years. Later on after having her three boys, Ida lived in Winnipeg. She loved her gospel and country music. She would spend time on the phone with family and friends. She loved to dance. Ida resided in Winnipeg for many years where she will leave numerous friends. She also spent a lot of time with her grandchildren and she liked to cook and clean house. Rest in Peace dear mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Special thank you to Garnet Woodhouse and family, John Gray of Arnason Funeral Home, the Ashern RCMP, Ashern Ambulance and the Lakeshore Hospital and staff in Ashern. A viewing will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Deliverance Centre, 1831 Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg, MB. Wake services will continue beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairford House of Prayer. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Fairford House of Prayer with Pastor Wilfred Bruce officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Helen's Anglican (Fairford) Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfred Bruce, Nilus Bruce, Kevin Bruce, Gavin Bruce, Darren Bruce and Vernon Bruce.
