ALAN DAVID KNAPP On Saturday, December 5, 2009 Alan David Knapp aged 79 years of Stony Mountain, MB passed away at the Stonewall Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by special friend Jan (Jeannette) Moskal; his five children Ken (Andrea), Linda (Garry) Cowan, Janice Royer (Kevin), Keith (Penny) and Arlene (Stephen) MacDuff; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Milt (Emily), sister Joyce (Louis) Phaneuf and brother-in-law Peter Valen. Predeceased by his wife Lou and sister Myrtle Valen. Al was born on May 14, 1930 to David and Gladys Knapp. He spent his early years living in the Stonewall area and then spent a short time in Winnipeg, but he later returned to Stony Mountain and lived there for the remainder of his life. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 10 at 1:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Marilyn Anderson-Corkum will officiate. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
