Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZENO (ZEKE) LOUIS SCALETTA Zeno was born June 21, 1932 and passed away suddenly on December 2, 2009. He is survived by his wife Dora, sister Josie (Dom in California), brother Frank (Betty), sister Vivian (Pat), two nieces and three nephews. From his wife's side there are three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, eight nieces and ten nephews. Zeno was married to Dora 53 years on December 1 of this year. Zeno retired from the CNR railroad as an engineer after 43 years. He was a big fan of the Blue Bomber football team. He enjoyed bowling and golf at Pineridge golf course. He was left handed and contributed his good game of golf to the fact that he stood on the right side of the ball. In his younger days he had many hobbies. He raised rabbits and had a love of raising and flying homing pigeons. He entered many competitions and through the years won many trophies. He was an avid gardener, and loved growing tomatoes and many other vegetables. He was a member of the Grupo Alpini and enjoyed his outings with the club. He also had a joy and love for making wine. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will take place 30 minutes prior to the mass. Father Fred Olds presiding. This service will terminate at the church. Private entombment to follow. Pallbearers are as follows; Tony Scaletta, Frank Grande, Barry Leschuinsky, Austin Abas, Keith Abas, and Glen Norton. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Zeno's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
