Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER PAWLYSHYN July 3, 1930 - December 5, 2009 Peacefully, with family at his side, Peter passed from the loving arms of his family here on earth into the arms of his Heavenly family and Lord Jesus Christ. Peter was born and raised in Elma, Manitoba. Peter and Marcia married at Christ the King Church in 1954. He held several jobs before settling in Winnipeg and working for Canada Wire and Cable/Alcatel/Superior Cable from 1959 to 1995. Peter will always be remembered as a devoted and loving father and grandfather who imparted his faith, traditions and loyalty to his family and friends. Remaining to forever cherish and honour Peter's memory are the love of his life Marcia, sons Peter and Eric (Theresa), daughters Barbara and Lynda, grandsons Matthew, Andrew, Gabriele and Steven. He is also survived by his sisters Margaret Turchyn, Eva (Russ) Cooley and sister-in-law Sophie Pawlyshyn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son Gary, parents Fred and Annie, parents-in-law William and Petronella Didyk, sister Nettie Proceviat, brother Harry, brothers-in-law John Proceviat and Bill Turchyn. Thank you to Rev. Fr. Borowiec for his visits and giving of the sacraments while Peter was at home. The family also wishes to acknowledge the kind and loving care given to Peter in his final days at Health Sciences Centre, Oakview Place and the ER Staff at Grace Hospital. Prayers (Parastas) will be on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral service on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church, 263 Fountain St. and Logan Ave. Panahyda and burial will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church in Elma, MB. Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel and Deacon Walter Knysh will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in Peter's memory to the Holy Cross Ukrainian Church Cemetery Fund, Elma, MB, R0E 0Z0 or Rossbrook House, 658 Ross Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0M1. I don't know if any in the family will ever read this but I just have to share the kindness of this man. My dad was accidentally killed when I was 3, leaving my mom a widow to four children and not in great financial shape.
