Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL ROSS It is with great sadness that the family of Martha Muriel Ross announces her passing on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the age of 91 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Muriel will be loving remembered by her daughter Shanley Parkinson, grandchildren Jane Parkinson, Janet Monks (Greg), Brett Parkinson (Janet Payne), her great-grand-children Benjamin, Abigail, Eden, Ryan (Nicole), Reid and Denise, her sister Gwen Perkins and many nieces and nephews. Muriel was born in Dryden, Ontario on November 28, 1918. After leaving Dryden Muriel lived in several of the Canadian provinces working as a dedicated social worker for the majority of her career. Muriel will be most remembered for being a woman of very strong Christian faith, a longtime member of the Rebecca's, the Royal Order of the Eastern Star and her church. Muriel resided at the Vasalund in Winnipeg for the last number of years and recently found peace and comfort at the Grace Hospice. Those who so desire may make Memorial Donations in memory of Muriel to the Grace Hospice. The family also wishes to thank her dear friends Pat, Cathy and Helen at the Vasalund for the help, support and friendship they provided to Muriel for so many years. A Memorial Service in Memory of Muriel will be held on Friday, December 11, at 2:00 p.m., at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. in Winnipeg, with Major Gordon Jarvis, Chaplain officiating.
