BARBARA ELISE FARGEY 1929 2009 On Monday, December 7, 2009, Barbara Fargey aged 80 years formerly of La Riviere and Winnipeg drew her last breath at her residence in Tabor Home, Morden, MB where she resided for the past 19 years. She was born in Toronto, ON on March 23, 1929 to a middle class young lady of English descent. Her father was a Norwegian carpenter by trade. When she was put up for adoption, the process led to the home of Mont and Helen Fargey who farmed at La Riviere, MB. In these pleasant surroundings she spent her youth involved in the usual activities that lead her to maturity. In 1950, she moved to Winnipeg and for a while worked at Eaton's Mail Order. In 1951, she started at the Royal Bank where she was employed for 25 years. After retirement she lived in Winnipeg until coming to Morden in 1990. Barbara contributed at Tabor Home by using her talent at the piano and whatever other way she could. She was never reluctant to express her opinion whether she was talking to the premier or any ordinary citizen. That doesn't always make one popular but at least you knew where you stood. In addition, she travelled widely across the Dominion when she was more able. When it came to supporting causes she believed in, she was generous in her giving to churches, medical research and benevolent groups, more than we imagined. Square dancing was one activity she enjoyed and took part in. She leaves to mourn her passing her brother, Murray and Betty Fargey of Calgary, AB, nephew Dean and his family and many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as friends roaming around the planet. She lived a good, moral life. Amen. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden with interment following at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Winnipeg. Thank you to the doctors and nurses and staff at Tabor Home for the years of loving care extended to Barbara. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Barb's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden In care of arrangements, 822-4755 www.wiebefuneralhomes.com
