Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD TWARDOCHLEB Leonard died peacefully on December 9, 2009 at Parkview Place Personal Care Home, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his mother Marcella, father John, uncle Stanley Labiak, and his sisters Nellie Sitarz and Minnie Grenick. He leaves to mourn his passing his nieces Helen Parker (Jim) and Janet Lopes (Joe), nephews Norbert Sitarz (Lorna), Carl Sitarz, and Richard Sitarz (Elaine), as well as numerous great nephews and nieces. He was born in Winnipeg on February 8, 1920 and spent most of his life on the farm at Pine Ridge. In addition to work on the farm, he was employed by Ogilvie Mills, and by Manitoba Parks Services at Birds Hill Provincial Park. In his younger years he was a school trustee at Carona School, and was a longtime member of St. Michael's Church in Cooks Creek, where he sang with the choir, and contributed significantly to the Church Building Fund. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and all the staff at Parkview Place for their attentive care during Leonard's stay with them. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2009 at Klassen Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Michael's Church in Cooks Creek, with Father Charles officiating. Burial at Birds Hill Park Cemetery will follow the Mass.
