Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIANA ROSE MCKENZIE (nee CLAYPOOL) Diana Rose McKenzie, age 66, a Life Member of Catholic Women's League of Canada, was taken from us on Sunday, December 5, 2009, following a short, but courageous, battle with cancer. Diana was born on May 1, 1943 in Beechy, SK to the late Leo and Winifred Claypool (Redley). She attended Rob Roy Country School and Beechy High School. Diana and Arthur married in 1960 and soon thereafter moved to Lynn Lake, MB. Here, their family and activities grew and blossomed under the northern lights till 1989 when the mining industry took them to Ignace, ON and eventually to Granisle, BC. Diana was a champion of community spirit and proud to volunteer for many worthy organizations. She loved her Winter Curling, Red Hat Ladies Club and most of all, being a beautiful and talented crafter, loved participating in craft sales. She will be missed by so many. Diana is survived by her husband of 49 years, Samuel Arthur, her daughters Arlynn (Allan) and Colleen; son Ian (Carmen); grandchildren Andrew, Heather, Ian, Samantha Alexander, Tabatha, Pamela (John); great-grandchildren Bredan and Lily; three brothers Wayne (Carol), Erroll (Cathy) and Dave (Vivian); sister Darlene (Bert); brother-in-law Lorne (Ella); three sisters-in-law Doris, Margie and Ladine (Gene); and very proud Auntie to two generations of Claypool/Haughian and McKenzie/Taillefer nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diana was predeceased by her beloved daughter Denice, brother Del and grandson Daren. Funeral services for Diana Rose McKenzie will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 14 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK. Viewing will be offered for one hour before the services at the church, as well as from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13 at the Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 - 4th Ave N., Saskatoon, SK. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Diana's memory to: Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation, 1475 Edmonton St., Prince George, BC, V2M 1S2 or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Saskatoon Funeral Home, 306-244-5577, has been entrusted with arrangements.
