GERTRUDE ADOLPHE (nee DESORCY) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrude, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Gertrude was born on April 16, 1923 in Lorette, MB. Shortly after her marriage to Ernest, they moved to Winnipeg to start their family. Once in Winnipeg she became an active member of the St. Eugene Parish, as well as the custodian of both the school and the church. Gertrude will be remembered by her six children, Claude (Doreen), Roland, Marguerite (Craig), Gisele (Gerald), Renald (Della) and Rose, her 31 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Gertrude will be sadly missed by her brothers, sisters and in-laws, Bernadette, Eugenie, Florence, Edouard, Emilie, Georges, Alice, Marie Anne Desorcy, Maurice, Eva Adolphe as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. We have comfort in knowing that Gertrude has been greeted by her late husband Ernest, her mom and dad Ubald and Alphonsine Desorcy, her brothers, sisters and in-laws Gerard, Leonard, Diana, Irene, Ida, Aime, Stan, and her son-in-law Bill Penner. A Prayer Vigil will take place on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Eugene Church, 1007 St. Mary's Road. On Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at St. Eugene Church a Viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by The Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow immediately at Green Acres Cemetery. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He closed His arms around you, And whispered, Come to Me You didn't deserve what you went through, So He took you Home to rest, God's gardens must be beautiful, For He only takes the best Rest in Peace Mom In memory of Gertrude, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
