AILEEN JOHNSON (TAMOTO) Peacefully and with her family by her side, Aileen Johnson (Tamoto) passed away, December 10, 2009. Aileen was loved by many friends and family, her Husband Bruce, parents Aki and Chiyoko, brothers Sam (Terry), Glen (Agnes), sister (Jackie), best friend Laverne, nieces Connie (Brent), Jessica, Crystal, Ashley, Nicole, nephews David, Quintin, stepsons Josh (Lindsey), Tyler and grandson Waylon. Aileen was a woman who lived her life with no regrets and followed her life passion to the fullest. At 22 years of age, Aileen began a long and wonderful career working with horses at various stables and race tracks across North America. Working with horses was something Aileen found truly rewarding and comforting. It was also through her love of horses that she met and eventually married her husband Bruce. While the two spent the last few years living and caring for horses in Washington, they recently returned to loved ones here in Winnipeg, to enjoy nearly eight precious months celebrating life with family and friends. The family and friends would like to graciously thank the staff and nurses of the St. Boniface Hospital palliative care program for their kindness and making Aileen's journey to heaven comfortable. A funeral service for Aileen will take place Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mosaic Funeral Cremation and Cemetery Services, 1839 Inkster Blvd, 275-5555. Aileen has asked all who attend come dressed casually and celebrate her life, rather than mourn it. In lieu of flowers Aileen has requested donations be made to D'Arcy's A.R.C (Animal Rescue Shelter). Donation envelopes will be on hand at the service.
