FRANK IMBROGNO DE ROSE It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Frank on December 5, 2009. He was predeceased by his father Eugenio Imbrogno in 1997. He will be deeply mourned by his loving mother Adelina De Rose Imbrogno, his brother Joseph Imbrogno, his sister Felicia (Tony De Luca), his nieces and nephews, Robert, Alexandria (Amedeo), Carla, and Simon, and by Eleanor Sigurdsson, whose support and companionship brought Frank great happiness. He will also be missed by Eleanor's family and by his close friends Steve Thompson, Jerry and Joanne Bilewitch, and Murray Deshell. He will also be sadly missed by aunts Matilda, Amalia, as well as cousins in Italy, Canada and the United States. Frank was born in Lappano, Cosenza, Italy and immigrated to Canada with his family at a young age. He grew up in the West End of Winnipeg where he attended Gordon Bell High School. After high school, Frank pursued a number of careers, but ultimately his love of horses, which started at a very early age, led him to Pinehurst Farm near Oakbank, Manitoba where he devoted the rest of his short life to his precious animals. Frank believed that all living things have a soul, and many a soul in need found comfort at his farm. Over the years, countless barn cats, stray dogs, and recently even a stray rooster made a home there. Frank's dog Digger, came to him as an abandoned stray and stayed to become a true and loyal friend for many years. Sadly, Digger passed away just two days earlier. Frank was involved with thoroughbred horses in one way or another for many years. He started out as a blood stock agent but his insights on developing race horses led him to take a more hands-on approach. He stood stallions at his farm and trained his own Manitoba-bred horses at Assiniboia Downs in Winnipeg. Frank believed that each and every day was a precious gift and that one should spend his life doing what he found most meaningful, so he did. There were good times and there were hard times, but Frank never wavered. He was approachable, always a good listener, and always gave good advice. He was a man of integrity, and his charismatic presence will be sadly missed by his many friends and colleagues. Dearest Frank, from your loving mother, brother, and sister: You left us far too soon. There was so much more that we were meant to share, and your passing has left a huge void in our lives. You were a loving son, a kind and generous brother, honest, pure, humble, witty, and you will forever live on in our hearts. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Reverend Father Renato Pasinato celebrating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I have never met Frank but I have owned a thoroughbred that he bred and owned. Ty (Delta Ridge) was raced numerous times but never did well as a race horse. Kai (as we call him) is incredibly sweet loving and trusting, it is obvious he was raised in a place that loved him and understood him, quite different then so many of the horses coming off the track. Thank you for loving my horse and breeding such an awesome animal. - Posted by: Jocelyn Guenter (Friend of a Friend) on: Sep 28, 2013
