Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE ELLEN SKYHAR (nee Spender) Peacefully, on Friday, December 11, 2009 at River Park Gardens, Flo passed away at the age of 85. Left to cherish her memory is her sons Ed (Jacquelyn and daughter Laura), and Fred (Pamela) as well as her grandson Daryn (Jamie) and great-grandchild Holden. Also her sisters Mabel and Margaret and many nieces and nephews. Flo was predeceased by her parents Edward and Alice Spender, husband William and son Douglas, as well as her brother Bill and sister Edith. Florence was a caring and giving person. She made friends quickly when living in the West End of Winnipeg, as well as at Sterling House, Golden Door and finally, River Park Gardens. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on January 3, 2010, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and all staff at River Park Garden for their loving care and friendship to Flo over the last two years. I had the pleasure of being Flo's daughter-in-law and during that time she was the kindest person one could hope to have as part of the family. She was a very caring and thoughful person, giving in every way, no matter what the occasion. I kept in touch with her throughout the years, even tho I was divorced from her son, Edward. She will always hold a speacial place in my heart and was a mother-in-law every daughter-in-law could hope to have in their life.
