THERESE ANNE MARIE McLEOD (nee McFARLAND) Suddenly after a courageous battle with her health; it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Therese McLeod, on Monday, December 14, 2009, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 72 years. Remaining to forever cherish Therese's memory are her husband of 53 years Ken; daughters Jo-Anne and Jeanette McLeod; son Kenneth McLeod; daughter-in-law Cindy McLeod (nee Cambell); granddaughters Amanda McLeod and Charity Wood of Winnipeg; sister Joanne Newman (nee McFarland), her husband Buck McCallum and family of Milton, Ontario. She was predeceased by her father Frank McFarland and her mother Mona McFarland (nee Blatherwick). Born in Toronto, Ontario and following High School at Loretta College on Brunswick Ave. in Toronto; Therese joined the Canadian Air Force and met her husband Ken while at Clinton ON where she was training as a Fighter Control Operator. She was posted to St Margaret's NB, while Ken was posted to MacDonald MB, so she took her release so they could be married and then lived in Portage la Prairie MB, Edmonton AB, Trenton ON, Medley AB, finally settling in Winnipeg where she worked for Deer Lodge Hospital for 28 years until retirement. She was an active member of St Marguerite Bourgeoys Chapel at 17 Wing where she was a member of the Chapel Council, serving as a Family and Social Coordinator as well as looking after the altar. She was a very caring wife, mother and grandmother and friend and will be missed by everyone.
