STANFORD A. J. JOHNSTON August 11, 1937- December 16, 2009 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, cousin, and friend; Stanford Johnston on December 16, 2009. Left to cherish his memory are his sons David (Jan), Stanford Jr. (Mary), Marshall (Theresa), daughters Cheryl (Sheldon), Bonnie (Dan), and Trudy, 15 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren, his brother Allan, sisters Kathleen (Charlie), Gertrude, Violet, and Betty (Mike), and step-mother Dorothy, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Gertrude Johnston, wife Annie, son Douglas, brothers Joseph and William, sisters Jennifer and Jeanette. Dad enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, travelling, and attending church regularly until his disability. Dad was very grateful to all who stopped by to visit with him. Dad was known for his great sense of humour and jokes; we will miss that dearly. Dad you were our Rock. Forever loved and in our hearts. A prayer service to celebrate Stanford's life will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at the Wide World of Faith Church, 465 Alexander Ave. Winnipeg, MB with Bill Thompson and Pastor Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons Stanford Jr., Marshall, grandsons Dennis, David Jr., Matthew, and nephew Melvin. Honourary Pallbearers will be his brother Allan, and sisters Kathleen, Violet, Betty and Gertrude. The family would like to thank Peguis Band and Council and the Anderson Family.
