Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH BERNICE GREENING (nee BEATON) Peacefully on Tuesday December 15, 2009 Edith Bernice Greening passed away at Concordia Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her husband Dan. Edith was born March 19, 1922 in Parkdale, Manitoba into a family of 11 children. She grew up in Parkdale and attended St. Andrews School and at the age of 19 she moved to Winnipeg and started a job as a payroll clerk at Winsome Dress. She then met and dated Dan for many years before they got married May 22, 1953. After marriage Dan and Edith lived in Roblin, MB for many years. After returning to Winnipeg, she was employed at Eaton's and worked as a supervisor in the Men's sock department for many years. Everyone in the family remembers visiting auntie Edie at Eaton's. Edie was a very kind, loving, generous person who was loved by everyone who knew her. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and when her nieces and nephews were young there was always a Christmas card and money for them. She will also be lovingly remembered and missed by her sisters Beatrice Leigh, Myrtle Mondor, Georgina Wasio and Geraldine Moodie (Gordon) and sisters-in-law Nora Anderson and Margaret Fricker (Steve) and also many nieces and nephews who all loved auntie Edie as much as she loved them. She was predeceased by her parents William and Grace Beaton, sister Grace Mickolson and Alma Reid and brothers Clifford, Clarence, Wilfred and George, sisters in law Muriel, Mary and Muriel as well as brothers in law Ralph, Stan, John, Tony and Jack. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday December 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Edie was the person who always kept our family connected. You will be forever remembered and greatly missed. Just a prayer from us who love you a precious memory, kind and true. To us you were someone special, And God must have thought so too. Pallbearers for Edith will be Joe Oleary, Trevor Lane, Jorn Brolund, Bill Hooper, Terry Leigh and Glen Fricker. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook Avenue, Winnipeg, MB Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
