Date of Passing: Dec 18, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBILL SENDEREWICH Peacefully, on Friday, December 18, 2009, Bill Senderewich, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was taken from us only too quickly. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Linda (Gel); his children, Heather, Chris and Jordan (Kaleigh); and best friend, his dog Ella. He will lovingly be remembered by his mother Anne Senderewich; mother-in-law Nel Gel Hyworon; his brother Joe (Elizabeth); sister Ruth McCutcheon (Bob); his sister-in-law Gail Gel (Mike Mager); brother-in-law Larry Gel and his wonderful nieces and nephews: his god-children, Tianna and Teresa, Aislinn, Carrie, Robyn, Richard, Frank, David, Brian and Duran. He was predeceased by his father Frank Senderewich; his dear grandfather Joseph and grandmother Tilly Senderewich; his grand-parents, Mike and Mary Glutek; his father-in-law Mike Gel; stepfather Boris Hyworon; and aunt Gisela Gel. Bill was born on August 15, 1950 in Roblin, Manitoba. He stayed on the farm until he moved to Winnipeg to further his education. Bill graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Sociology. After graduation, he worked in management preparing for the day he would operate his own business. On June 18, 1977 he married Linda Gel. Together they experienced and enjoyed a wonderful unconventional life that was rarely boring or the norm. They enjoyed the beauty of BC living in Victoria, Vancouver and Dawson Creek. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1980 to be closer to family and to start their own. Bill owned and operated the St. Adolphe Motor Inn for the past 26 years and became an icon as Bill from the bar . Bill was definitely his own boss; he did things his way and never compromised who he was or what he believed in. He never waivered on his standards and morals; his convictions and passions were always true and strong. His children brought much pride and joy to his life. He loved spending time with them: listening, laughing and sharing stories together. Bill was constantly reading, observing, learning and sharing his knowledge with others. He loved discussions of any kind especially with his late-night discussion buddies and many friends. He would never pass up a chance to tease or play some kind of prank on somebody. We will always remember that laugh, even when it may have been at our own expense! Machines and tools were his passion. We would never know what new toy might show up on our driveway! He loved being at the lake enjoying an early morning coffee watching the sunrise, or listening to the pounding waves under a starlit sky. Bill spent many hours working on the cottage. He was a stonemason extraordinaire. Bill loved his farm and the wildlife there. Many times he would travel out with Ella to simply relish the beauty and tranquility of all that nature was. Even though it is difficult to accept that you are gone, we understand and find comfort in knowing that you would always watch out for your own. As our guardian angel you will never ever be far away from us, looking over us and taking care of us. May you rest in peace and know that we will never forget you and we will be okay. Our dear beautiful soul we love you dearly. May God keep you close and watch over you as you proceed on your eternal life journey. We wish to thank all of you who offered prayers and kind sentiments. You have helped us be strong and helped Bill move on so peacefully. Bless you all. Thanks to the loving and gentle care of the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Garland, Norvi, Kelly and the rest of the nursing and care teams on E5, ICU and in Palliative Care. Prayers will be sung at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Monday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, also at the church, with Rev. Fr. Walter Klimchuk officiating. Service will terminate at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity that benefits the welfare of animals, something dear to Bill's heart. VICHNAYA PAMYAT, Rest in Peace. One day death is gonna conquer me, I'll be down where the waters flow, I hope sweet heaven is a place for me, Let me know Boys, let me know. - Coldplay KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
