JAMES THOMAS WATTERS Suddenly, on December 18, 2009, Jim passed away at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was 62 years old. Jim was born and raised in the north end of Winnipeg. He attended St. John's High School and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Jim graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Degree in 1971 and went on to attain a Registered Industrial Accountant designation. Shortly after graduation, Jim's professional career took him to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, where he worked for the Bank of Commerce for two years. He later accepted a position with Transport Canada in Edmonton, Alberta, where he worked until his retirement. After retirement, in the late 1990s, he returned to Winnipeg to be with friends and family. In his younger years, Jim played rugby with the Saracens Rugby Club. He loved the game and the camaraderie. Jim was also an avid fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. By far, the two most important things in his life were his faith and his family. Jim was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. Upon his return to Winnipeg, he attended Faith Lutheran Church. Jim cherished his relationships with relatives. He especially enjoyed the special times he had on outings with his cousins, brother and nephew; weekly dinners at his sister's home; and other special events with family. He also took great pride and interest in his nieces and nephew. Jim is predeceased by his mother Susanna Watters (nee Hilderman) and father Thomas Watters. Jim will be sadly missed by his loved ones: sister Carol Teixeira (Brian); brother Bill Watters (Darlene); nieces Kelly and Nancy Teixeira; Cheryl and Julie Watters; nephew Matthew Watters; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Brookside Cemetery, with memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Boulevard.
