Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCELLA (SALLY) KATHLEEN FRASER 1917 - 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sally Fraser, with her family by her side, on December 18, 2009 after a long and healthy life of 92 years. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Lorraine; grandsons Doug (Betty), Wayne; great-grandson Seth; and brother Vernon (Tim) Clack. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, daughter Pat and brothers Doug and Fred. Sally grew up in the Oak River Area (north/west of Brandon). She enjoyed her life on the farm with her parents and three brothers. After completing high school she took psychiatric nurses' training and worked in Selkirk, MB. She then joined the Canadian Military Signal Corps. While in uniform she met another service person Bill Fraser, who became her beloved husband. Soon after the births of their daughters Pat and Lorraine, Sally and Bill moved to Amherst Street in St. James where Sally lived till her passing, some 60 years later. Sally and Bill enjoyed an active life together with some of their fondest memories coming from the time they spent at the Deer Lodge Curling Club. Sally was especially proud of their many years of coaching in the Blind Curling Program. Precious time was spent at Betula Lake (over 50 years) and this place was truly a cherished spot for Sally, her family, friends and her much loved dogs (Trixie, Teri, Mandy, Brandi and Sam). A gathering of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Should friends so desire donations may be made in Sally's memory to Siloam Mission or Winnipeg Humane Society.
