Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE LACHANCE (nee PRINCE) In the first hour of December 19, 2009, our mother drew her last breath. She was 90 years old. She died peacefully with her daughter Lizanne and son Gérald by her side. She is survived by her children Lizanne and Gérald (Mary Ann); brothers, Paul (Suzanne), Napoleon, Philippe (Yvette), sister Lucille (Charlie) Dufault, sisters-in-law Gertrude, Laura and brother-in-law Lucien Fredette as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by our father, Joseph Lachance (1992), as well as numerous brothers and sisters. Irene was born on May 4, 1919 in St. Boniface to Joseph Prince and Parmelisa (Doucet). In 1951, at the age of 32, mother married our father and created a home on the Lachance homestead near St. Eustache, Manitoba. She enjoyed the serenity of farm life and appreciated all of nature's beauty. Her most precious moments throughout life were spent in the company of family. She was proud of her French Canadian heritage and family roots. Her Roman Catholic faith was her pillar and the Rosary, the tool she used to articulate her love of the Cross. She loved music and social celebrations. She was very proud of singing with the choir, Les Intrepides and she instilled her love of music in me. We shall treasure her love, and will carry her in our hearts forever. Sincerest thanks to my Taché family, for all the compassionate care provided to our mother over the last six years, especially the staff of 4DE and 5ABC. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, December 23 at 8:00 p.m. in St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. A Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 24 at 10:00 a.m. also in St. Vital Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Taché Centre, 185 Despins, Winnipeg, MB. R2H 2B3, or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB. R3C 4G2. Sleep in heavenly peace dear Mother, You are home for Christmas. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
