KALMAN (KAL) KINGSLEY TULLY Kal Tully, formerly of Newton Siding, MB, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 19, 2009. He was born on March 6, 1927, the fifth child of Lee and Elizabeth Tully of High Bluff. He was part of the family farm until 1958, when he stepped out to farm on his own, retiring in 1998. In November 2006 they moved off the farm and into an apartment in Portage la Prairie, where he resided until the time of his passing. Kal was an elder of the Oakville Alliance Church until it's closing, and then he attended Crescent Heights Chapel in Portage la Prairie. He was a member of the local camp of Gideons International since 1982 and he also served on the Portage Community Pasture Board. Kal maintained an interest in farming and enjoyed gardening, traveling, hunting, music and visiting with friends and family. Kal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Irma (nee Boepple), his children; Susan (Jim) Flynn and their children Amber (Slav) Stancovici and Matthew of Prince Albert, SK; Eric (Valerie) Tully and their son Dylan of rural Portage la Prairie; Barbara (Brad) Cowie and their children Justina and Shalise of Sexsmith, AB; and Aaron (Louise) and their children Laura, Luke, Rebecca, Daniel and Peter of Newton Siding. Also surviving are his sisters Marion Hogaboam, Ruth Boyachek, Hazel (Dave) King and Joyce Tully, and sisters-in-law Grace Tully and Sally Tully. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the Portage Evangelical Church, 72 Third Street N.E., Portage la Prairie, MB. A private interment in the Oakville Cemetery will precede the service. If friends so desire, contributions to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, c/o P.O. Box 3619, Stn. N.
