Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDMOND (ED) SKELTON May 14, 1930 - December 14, 2009 Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2009 with his family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kay (Axcell), by his children Bill, Diane (husband Glen Curtis), his grandchildren Adam and Amy (mother Kelly) and sister-in-law Joan Skelton. Ed was predeceased by his parents Will and Blanche Skelton, his sister Louise Green and her husband Alfred and his brother Dyson Skelton. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg, Ed grew up in St. James and attended Britannia School and St. James Collegiate. He apprenticed with NCR (National Cash Register) in the early 1950s and worked as a technician for 35 years. He was a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge No. 4 and became Worshipful Master in 1970. A talented carpenter, Ed built three cottages and a country home prior to his retirement. In the early 1980s he took up keel boat sailing and in 1988 and 1989, with family and friends as crew, he sailed through the Grecian islands. The family would like to thank the staff at West Park Manor for their loving care and support. A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or West Park Manor - 3199 Grant Avenue, Winnipeg.
