Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION BRIAN Peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2009, Marion Brian, wife of Herbert C. (Bert) Brian, passed away at Riverview Health Centre after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her parents Ina (Fraser) and Victor Dryden, sisters-in-law Marian (Hay) Dryden, Lillian (Brian) Lawrence, Gladys Brian and most recently brother Allan Dryden. Marion is survived by her husband of 60 years Bert Brian, son David (Rosalind), daughters Nancy (Gary Crooks), and Donna (Vern Klassen). Her grandchildren David, Dana (Steph) and Delayne Brian, (mother) Sylvia Culver-Brian. Ashleigh (Paul) Presenger and Kelli Crooks, Courtney and Bryce Klassen, great-grandchildren are Jayden, Holdyn, and Lexi, step-grandchildren Renee Johnson (Eric), and Shawn Aseltine (Laura), step great-grandchild Graffin. Mar's brother Kenneth Dryden and sister-in-law Joyce Dryden and many nieces and nephews. Marion was born October 11, 1924 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Vic and Ina Dryden. She was employed at CNR and it was there that Mom met Dad. Mom was raised in Norwood, and after their marriage on September 17, 1949, they purchased their home at 172 Pinedale Ave. (Norwood). Mom was very active in the community: a lifetime member of Norwood United Church where she held many UCW positions, as well at Norwood Community Club and at Nordale School, especially the library. Mom enjoyed bowling in the Coronation Bowling Ladies League. Happy summers were spent at Victoria Beach at the Dryden Family Cottage. Mom was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Mom was warm, caring and kind. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who truly loved her family. She is deeply loved and missed and will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint).
