CALEB HENNIGAR BURNS December 31, 1921 - December 22, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Caleb H. Burns announce his passing on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks, AB, in his 88th year, after a short battle with cancer. Caleb will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia, his children Kathleen Wensley (Don), John Burns (Pat), Lorraine Zapfe (Brian), Janice Lohr (Dan) as well as his 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Caleb will also be missed by his brother Ralph's family of Winnipeg, MB as well as his sister Pearl Higgins of Elderbank, NS and her family along with numerous nieces and nephews. Caleb was predeceased by his parents John and Julia Burns of Elderbank, as well as his brother Ralph Burns of Winnipeg and his sister Eva Jennings of Slocan, BC. The family would like to thank Dr. John Carter of the Lake Chaparral Medical Clinic; Dr. John Graham and the medical team at Rockyview General Hospital; the staff at Home and Palliative Care; Foothills Unit 47 and the Foothills Country Hospice for their care and support throughout this very difficult time. A family celebration of Caleb's life will be held on December 31 and a memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn in Winnipeg at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation or a charity of choice.
