CYNTHIA LEE WINKLER (nee SCOULAR) It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Cynthia at home in Ponemah Beach on December 27, 2009 at the age of 61. Cynthia was predeceased by her first husband Bruce Donig in 1983 and her mother Janet Scoular in 2005. Cynthia will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soul mate of 23 years, Marvin; her children, Orianne (Kevin), Caralee (Gerry), Bruce (Lorrie), Walter, and Christian (Dana), her two stepdaughters, Michelle (Gordon) and Connie (Dustin), 12 grandchildren, sisters Darlene (George), Edith (Toni), brother Tom (Cathy) and her father Walter Scoular. Cynthia was a strong and selfless person, suffering the early loss of her husband Bruce, but ever working to create a loving and safe life for her five children and her extended family. In earlier years, Cynthia loved camping and fishing trips with Bruce and the children. Cynthia became a Harley motorcycle girl somewhat late in life, however she and Marvin still managed 20 consecutive trips to the Sturgis Bike Week in South Dakota and a long Harley-Davidson adventure to Laconia, N.H. in 2005. Cynthia enjoyed working for many years at the Winnipeg Free Press and loved vacations in Florida, Cuba, Jamaica and Mexico. The family thanks all the doctors, nurses, health and home care workers for their exceptional care and kindness in Cynthia's brave battle against cancer. Cremation has been honoured at Cynthia's request. A private celebration honouring Cynthia's amazing life will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.Make a donation to
