ERWIN REMPEL 1941 - 2009 Peacefully on December 26, 2009 at Riverview Health Centre, surrounded by family, Erwin passed away at the age of 68 years. Erwin will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Ruth. Besides his wife, Erwin is survived by his mother Margarete (Walter) Rempel; his brother Herb (Margaret); and sisters, Frieda (Pete Penner), Anne (Werner Epp, deceased); and nephews, Erwin (Dorothea) Penner, Kurt (Cathy) Penner and Richard (Wendy) Penner; and one niece, Pamela Epp. He was predeceased by his father Abram Rempel. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Patricia Harris and staff (Oncology Clinic) at Concordia Hospital and doctors and staff at Riverview Health Centre, Unit 3 East. The funeral service for Erwin Rempel will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mennonite Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, Unit 3 East, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 2P4.

Dear Ruth. Our deepest sympathy to you and your families. Erwin will remain in our hearts forever. We will always miss his smile, laughter, and humor! Our trips to Texas will never feel quite the same without you two. Erwin was an absolutely great friend, and although I never had the opportunity to play softball with him, I could not wait for that day to come, knowing how much fun I was about to have!
