JOSEPH SHURA 1937 2009 Joseph Shura passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. Joe was born on December 13, 1937 and was predeceased by his parents Annie and Peter, brother Walter (Mabel) and sister Betty. He leaves to mourn his passing sisters Genevieve (George) and Mary (Tommy) as well as many nephews and nieces in the Toronto and Lac du Bonnet area. Joe was raised on the farm, loved animals and the outdoors. In his early childhood, his family moved to Toronto, but eventually returned to Lac du Bonnet. Joe worked for Winnipeg Hydro in Point du Bois for many years and also did odd jobs and worked on construction with his brother Walter. Joe was an easy going spirit who had a passion for playing cards. Crib was his favourite and he had a unique ability to count your cards before you played them - few people beat him. He also spent many hours playing Bingo with his friends. The family, on behalf of Uncle Joe, would like to extend a special thank you to his niece Donna Schichl and her family for their many acts of kindness throughout the years. As well, a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home for their patience, care and understanding during the past 15 years. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. Jose Montepeque presiding. Interment will follow at the Lac du Bonnet cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Joe to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home.
