Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA LUISA SIMOES It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Maria Simoes on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at St. Joseph Nursing Home at the age of 103 years. Maria was born in the town of Mosteiros, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and came to Canada in 1974. She was predeceased by her husband Jose; her son Luis, and son-in-law Joao. She is survived by her sons, Jose (Giraldina), Agostinho (Judite), Jose Manuel (Conceicao); her daughters, Maria Luisa, Conceicao (Joao), and daughter-in-law Dalia. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Teresinha, Luis Manuel, Helena Maria, Madalena, Bertinho, Nelinha, Odete, Luisa Maria, Jose Eduardo, Joao Manuel, Gilberto, Carlos, Luis, Nelia, Jose Manuel, Paulo, Basilio, Sonia, Rui, Paulo, George, Sandro and Alia, as well as many great-granddaughters and great-grandsons. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, December 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 31 at 10:00 a.m. also at Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
