REVEREND NOBUO MATSUBARA Peacefully on December 28, 2009, while surrounded by his family, Nobuo was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was born in Steveston, BC, on December 15, 1926, where he lived until his family was relocated in 1941 to Manitoba near Homewood. When he moved to Winnipeg he attended Central Alliance Church and in 1946 accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. Hardy and interventional radiology staff, J.B. Sharkey and I. Maxwell along with the VGH Oncology staff. Appreciation is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at Riverview Health Centre 3 East. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was too young to remember much of the time, but the Matsubara family was here in Homewood when they got sent east from the west coast during the war and worked on the farm. I can onky recall having to spend the night at their family home as my parents had to be away for some reason. I remember it being a very pleasant experience. - Posted by: Charlie Froebe (friend) on: Sep 05, 2025

  • Nobeo was my roommate at CBC and part of the pastoral team when I served as District Superintendent. What a gentle, faithful, godly man. His sweet spirit and quiet confidence was a blessing to me. I have often referred to him over the years as a humble servant of God in difficult situations. God bless each of you in his family. - Posted by: Arnold Reimer (Co-Worker) on: Feb 23, 2010

  • Dear family: Nobuo was a great classmate of mine in Regina, back in the early 50s, and I send my deepest condolence to you in this time of loss. Thank the Lord, we do not sorrow like those without hope. God bless you all. Dave Tjart - Posted by: David Tjart (Family) on: Feb 22, 2010
