MARGARET BARBEAU December 9, 1922 - December 25, 2009 Jesus took our beloved Nana home on His Glorious Birthday, alleluia! Mary Marguerite Alberta Barbeau (nee Grace) passed away peacefully into the arms of Our Lord on December 25, 2009. Margaret left us comfortably as she slept at the Grace Hospital. She was affectionately known by many as Nana. She had just celebrated her 87th birthday surrounded by friends and family. Margaret was born in Clarke City, Quebec; married her love, Richard, in 1950 and relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1970. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Ivan (Poopsie) and her 11 siblings. Left behind with so many fond, funny and loving memories of her are her children Deborah (James) Hickson, Janice (Sandy) Bain, Donald (Lorrie) Barbeau and her grandchildren Kelly (Kaj) Rasmussen, Jaime Hickson, Colin (Erin) Hickson, Jared Hickson all of Winnipeg; Taige, Koen, and Kyler Barbeau of Abbotsford, BC; and great-grandson Joel Rasmussen also of Winnipeg. Our thanks to her special friends, Madonna McDonald and Sheila Toth for their loving support always, especially during this past year. Also we would like to thank all her friends at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Margaret was a graceful, loving, caring, generous woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always put others' needs ahead of her own. She was the happiest when surrounded with her family and friends, along with a deck of cards, bingo, board games or in her kitchen. Mom will forever be remembered this way in our hearts. Mom and Dad, we thank you for your true example of love, selflessness, generosity and concern for others...we strive to continue your legacy. Mom, you are the best, we miss you and are happy to know you and Dad are finally reunited. Merry Christmas. A funeral mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 204-943-6622. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
