MARIE AUDREE RILEY (nee BELANGER) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Audree Riley on December 27, 2009 at Grace Hospital at the age of 61 years. During their 20 years together, Audree and Wayne accomplished a lifetime of memories which included their beautiful marriage on June 28, 1996 in Winnipeg. She is survived by children, Sherry and Carrie Lundy, Steve (Carole) and Darren (Cory) Riley; grand-children, Richard, Jerzee, Karissa, Megan, Lauren and Brynne; siblings, Carol McGarry, Bernice O'Gorman, Rudy Belanger and Donnie Belanger; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Audree was predeceased by parents, Rudolph and Alice Belanger, and brother Blair Belanger. Audree was employed at Health Sciences Centre since 1983 where she held various administration positions, her last position being Administration Assistant III at the Variety Children's Heart Centre (Pediatric Cardiology unit). Because of her fun loving and caring personality she attracted many friends and was able to comfort those in need. She enjoyed many days at Grand Beach with her husband Wayne, and took an interest in reading and journaling. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Mark A. Tarrant presiding. Following Mass, a reception was held in the church hall. Interment followed in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers were Rudy and Donnie Belanger (brother), Raymond McGarry (brother-in-law), Steve and Darren Riley (sons of Wayne) and Josh Sulkers (friend of family). Special thank you to CancerCare Manitoba; especially Dr. P. Czaykowski and nurse Denise Klassen. Also special thanks to Fr. Mark Tarrant, St. Paul Apostle Church, Sandra Skroeber of Calgary a devoted friend who provided much encouragement and spiritual guidance, Carol McGarry for constant love and support, and Grace Hospital for their comforting and compassionate care throughout the final days of her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Audree's memory may be made to Cancer Society of Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
