JACOB THIESSEN Jacob Thiessen aged 97 years of Eastview Place Personal Care Home Altona, Manitoba; and formerly of Winkler, Manitoba and Lowe Farm, Manitoba; passed away at Eastview Place on December 31, 2009. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Esther (Peter) Wiebe; Howard (Judy) Thiessen; Larry (Hedy) Thiessen; Robert (Sharon) Thiessen; David (Noani) Thiessen; 14 grand-children; 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 74 years Justina (nee Harder) and by one son Hugo in infancy. The Memorial Service for Jacob Thiessen will be held at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church in Altona, Manitoba; on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will have been held at the Rosefarm Cemetery prior to the funeral service. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Thursday, January 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In memory of Jacob Thiessen donations may be made to Altona Eastview Place Chaplaincy Program.
