SHARYN DIANE COCHRANE (nee MCELREA) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sharyn Diane Cochrane on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 61 years. Predeceased by her parents, Jack and Ida McElrea, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband Wayne, sister Joanne (Lon) Teasdale, brothers Rick (Diane), Pat (Val), Mike (Diane), Sean (Melody), several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Sharyn with a Y as she was popularly known by her many friends and co-workers met around the country through her 41 year marriage to her Soldier Boy Wayne. For many years Sharyn and Wayne were involved in the sport of Archery, having created several clubs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Northwest Europe, where they competed internationally on behalf of the Canadian Forces. Many thanks to the staff in the Emergency and Palliative Care Units at St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Canadian Diabetes Association (Manitoba Division), 200-310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
