Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE LILLIAN KOHUT (nee WILLIS) Elsie passed away peacefully at the age of 84, in Winnipeg on January 3, 2010 with her family at her side. She is survived by her children: Bill (Corinne), Shirley (Ken), Darlene (Brian) and her beloved partner Jake. Mum had five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a wonderful extended family through Jake. She will be loved and missed by all. In 1925 Mum was born in Southern England and raised the middle child of five. She leaves to mourn her sister Dorrie, brother Bob and numerous nieces and nephews in Headley. Mum came to Canada with her son Billy as a war bride on the Queen Mary in 1946. The family resided in the north end of Winnipeg for over 50 years. She loved playing bingo and going to the Legion with her best friend Bertha Taylor. Mum worked for Eaton's, Clarke's Gambles and Zellers, retiring in 1990. The last 15 years have been some of the happiest times of Mum's life. Jake and Mum travelled many placed in Canada and the U.S.A. Always together, having a great time enjoying their golden years. The family wish to thank the 3rd floor staff of the Beacon Hill Lodge and nurses of the St. Boniface palliative care unit. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Elsie's name to a charity of choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, Henderson at Hespeler.
