ANNIKKI EILA ERONEN After a brief illness, Annikki Eila Eronen passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 76 years. Remaining to forever cherish Annikki's memory are her husband Jouko, of 57 years of marriage; son Eero (Pat), daughter Katherine (Grant) and her grandchildren, Eric Jr., Austin, Nicholas, Stefanie and Erin. She is also survived by her family in Finland, sister Maija; bothers Hannu and Heikki; and many other relatives. Annikki was born on May 8, 1933 in Vaajakoski, Finland. In 1958 she followed her loving husband Jouko to Canada. She enjoyed her family, friends and going to the cottages at Point du Bois and Sioux Narrows. Annikki also enjoyed traveling to warm destinations such as Mexico and the Caribbean. She especially enjoyed her last trip to Mexico with her family, in particular her grandchildren. She cherished the time she spent watching them play hockey and lived vicariously through them. On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Annikka's funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue at the Corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue. For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. The Family would like to extend our gratitude to our close friends for their support and the Grace Hospital's Doctors, Nurses and staff of the 4th floor for the loving care of our Annikki. She was well taken care of and for that we are all so very grateful.
