DOROTHY GARDINER April 4, 1923 - January 2, 2010 We sadly announce the passing of Dorothy on January 2, 2010. She is survived by her loving husband William of 56 years; her children, Bill (Sandy), John (Leslie), Gail (Jaimie), Darcy; and grandchildren, Christine, Courtney, Christopher, Sydney, Tiana; and great- grandson Jordan. She also leaves to mourn, her brother Jim; and sisters, Yvonne and Patsy, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Mary and her father James, and her brother Ken. Dorothy was born in Neepawa, and moved to Winnipeg. She married Bill in 1953. They resided in Windsor Park, where she raised her family. She became a foster mother, and over the years looked after more than 40 children. She belonged to many groups such as the U.C.W., the Seniors Centre and the Leisure Centre Glee Club. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Prior to the services there will be a viewing from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., reception to follow services at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood.
