LARRIE JOHN ZAHORODNY February 15, 1945 - January 4, 2010 Peacefully on January 4, 2010, at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer, Larrie Zahorodny, aged 64 years, passed away. Larrie was born to John and Verma Zahorodny at the (old) Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. He was raised in St. Martin / Homebrook Peonan Point area residing mainly on the ranch in the Portage Bay area for 60 years. He worked with his parents raising Hereford cattle and also as a Commercial fisherman on Lake Manitoba. Larrie is survived by his wife Ruth, of 39 years; his mother Verma; three sisters, Sharon (Larry) Krakowka of Portage la Prairie, MB and their daughter Ashley of Calgary, AB, sister Lois (Marvin) Bednarek and their son Kevin of Steep Rock, MB, sister Linda Roehl of Ashern and her daughter Larissa of Brandon, MB and son Kristopher of Ashern, MB; mother-in-law Jean Sterling along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. Larrie was predeceased by his father John in November of 1984 and his father-in-law Pat Sterling in April of 2007. In keeping with Larrie's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larrie's memory to a charity of one's choice.
