He is survived by sons Matt, Tim, daughters, Rosalie, Kathy and Chicky Baker, sisters Shirley, Rose, Cecilia, numerous nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Predeceased by his children, Kim and Grant. Funeral to be held Wednesday, January 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Kateri Tekakwitha, 794 Ellice Ave. Wereschuk Funeral Home, 582-0929.

My Dad loved hunting, fishing..and Bingo. He dedicated 19 years of his own time to volunteer for Winnipeg Harvest. He made the best homemade soups. In his lasts days in the hospital he asked to have Mom's (Susan) picture taped to his bed rail and would stare at her picture and he knew the end was near. Some of Mom's last words were "Don't cry for me when I am gone-I know where I am going. if you want to join me one day, you know what to do". Dad held Mom's hand right til the very end. Mom was a strong believer in God and Heaven and that life on earth is just a stage. Dad was always stubborn and a skeptic about this: but thank God in the end he accepted God as his personal savior and asked for all his sins be forgiven. Mom's heartfelt words echoed in his heart and mind and he became a believer-he wanted to see his Susie again..and he did...amen - Posted by: Kathy Lavallee (Daughter) on: Apr 04, 2024
