GISELA MARIA KAMIENIARZ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Gisela, at her residence at the age of 82 years. Born in Mannheim, Germany in 1927, Gisela was predeceased by her husband Alfons in 2005; father Wilhelm Hardung; mother Elisabeth Hardung and sister Ilse Stemmle. She is survived by her sons Ralph (Sandra Bergquist), Roman, Peter; daughters Patty Hiley (Bob); grandchildren, Alana (Rob Bueckert), Robert and Derek; Linda DeStefano (Nick); grandchildren Nicolas and Mateo; sister and brother-in-law Elenor and Jarek Tokar from Mannheim, Germany. Gisela and Alfons' deep desire to provide a better life for their family resulted in Alfons immigrating to Red Lake, Ontario from Germany in 1959. Shortly after, Gisela and their three sons joined Alfons to start their new life in Canada. Daughter Patty was born in Red Lake and in 1964 the family relocated to Winnipeg where their fifth child Linda was born. Mom and Dad were married for 51 years and were able to enjoy many years together watching their family grow. Gisela worked at the International Inn for many years and had a passion for animals, especially cats and dogs. She loved spending time with family. She had a passion for baking but also loved eating her desserts, never being able to say no to anyone for anything sweet. Her warm and amusing personality always attracted people to her. She enjoyed reading and watching classic movies. Gisela enjoyed the simple things in life, time with her family, good food, good friends and music. A private memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010. REST IN PEACE, MAMA - YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED LOVE YOU ALWAYS
