Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLEN CUMMINGS SR. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Glen Cummings, on January 12, 2010, with family by his side. Left to cherish his memory, are his loving wife Doreen; son Glenn (Tamy) Cummings; daughters, Brenda (Rob) MacFarlane, Sharon (Brad) Welsh; and grandchildren, Vanessa and Matthew Welsh, as well as brothers, sister, in-laws, numerous other relatives and friends. Glen was born on March 22, 1931 in Ventnor, Ontario. He joined the RCMP in the early 1950s and was a member of the RCMP musical ride. He retired in 1976 in Ottawa and then moved back to Winnipeg. Glen married the love of his life Doreen, on October 7, 1961. They raised three children together moving from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia, Ottawa and finally settling in Winnipeg. Throughout his life, Dad enjoyed golfing, bird watching, horse racing and spending time with his grand-children. Dad was a very strong person with a soft heart. He was the best husband and father we could ask for and was always there whenever we needed him. After a short and courageous battle with cancer, Dad left us but will remain in our hearts forever. We would like to extend our thanks to our family and friends for their love, support and prayers. Also special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff on 5 North and ICU at Grace Hospital, for their excellent care and support. Donations can be made in Glen's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
