DIANE DONNA RECUNYK (nee TOEWS) Diane Donna Recunyk (nee Toews) with family at her side passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 66. Diane leaves to mourn her passing, son Cory (Corinne) and their children Seth, Larissa and Dion; son-in-law, Hank Sprong; granddaughters Destinee and Kaylee; brother Don Towes (Wendy); nephew Benji; sister Lynne Schweier (Rick); niece Amber and grand-nephew Cody; sisters-in-law, Delanie Parks (Gary), Lynn Recunyk and brother-in-law Steven Recunyk. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Diane was predeceased by her daughter, Kim Sprong in 2004; her husband, Leonard Recunyk in 2006; parents Caroline and Jack Toews of Selkirk; Olga and Paul Recunyk of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Janie Weaver and brother-in-law Clifford Recunyk. All who knew Diane knew all of her great qualities, how strong, full of life and independent she was. She will be sadly missed, loved and in our hearts forever. In accordance to Diane's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Diane's life will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Clements Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those wishing so may contribute to Diane's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrooke St., Winnipeg, MB. R3C 2B7. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and doctors at Selkirk General Hospital and Health Science Center for the care she received. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
