LIONEL MACKENZIE (BUCK) BAIN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lionel M. Bain on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 79 years. Left to cherish Lionel's memory are his wife Eileen of 54 years of marriage; son Brian (Lynn); daughter Nadine; grandchildren, Bradley and Alannah; sister Jean (Jim); and sisters-in-law, Madelyn Bain, Rose, Shirley, Claire, Berniece and Diana; brothers-in-law, Clifford, Edward, Arthur and Lawrence. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary Bain; sisters, Evelyn (Durward), Isabel, Lillian (Joe), Elva (Jack); brothers, Donald (Margaret), John and Winnard; and brother-in-law Steve. Lionel was born on December 25, 1930 in Ramsay Township, Lanark County, Ontario. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years and retired as a Warrant Officer. In compliance with Lionel's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family service will be held. Burial will take place in the Military Section of Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to Drs. Penner and Adams and staff on the fifth floor of the Victoria General Hospital for their care and kindness to Lionel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3 or to the Salvation Army. Sing and Whistle with the Angels Dad, Forever and Always.
