MAE HELEN CONQUERGOOD Born December 28, 1917 in Brandon, MB and grew up just outside of Brandon, passing away on January 16, 2010. Mae worked in many places in her life such as the Bay, Eaton's, and Zellers in Winnipeg, MB, Water works in Shoal Lake, ON. She was a cook at Richardson Stock Farm and at The Manitoba Department of Highways, as well as a Supervisor of an apartment complex. Along with music she played baseball, loved to curl, square dance, and play cards. Mae moved to Yorkton in 1999 to be near her family. She made many, many friends, joined a seniors club which she enjoyed and also her four girls card club. Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, June Berthelette and Rene, her daughter-in-law, Barbara Conquergood, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her sister, Florence McDougall of Winnipeg, MB, brother, Bill Nesbit of Thunder Bay, ON, sisters-in-law, Eileen Nesbit of Edmonton, AB, Bunny Conquergood of Virden, MB and Connie Conquergood of Winnipeg, MB and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Torrance passed away in 1988 and she also lost her parents in 1979 and 1981; her son, Russell in 2005 and three brothers, Ivan, Alex (Tiny) and Harry Nesbit. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK. In accordance with Mae's wishes a private family cremation committal will take place at a later date. Friends so wishing may make donations in Mae's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart Stroke Foundation.
