FRANCIS WILLIAM FOY It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, Papa and son, Francis William Foy Junior (Bill) on Monday, January 18, 2010 at the age of 61 years old. Bill is survived by his loving wife Karen of 41 years, three sons Darryl (Cathy), Kevin (Darcie), and Bryan (Lindsay); his nine grandchildren Tristen, Evrytt, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Nicole, Cassandra, Nathen, Sydney, Eryck; mother Eleanor Foy; mother-in-law Madeline McLeod, sister-in-law Donalda Jeffrey, brother-in-laws Dennis McLeod and John Nowak, numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was predeceased by his father Francis William Foy Senior, his brother Douglas, father-in-law Tom McLeod, sister-in-law Shirley Nowak and niece Sandy Dearman. Bill spent 25 years as a skilled mechanic with the Seven Oaks School Division, which he retired from in 2002. Bill also enjoyed working on automobiles as a hobby, especially sharing his skills with his three sons. Dad was always there to assist us and share his expertise whenever we needed him. Bill forever enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the cabin in Redditt, Ontario. His 21 years at the cabin included many re-models, long morning chats in the porch, and continuing to pursue his life-long love of fishing. He has passed on his love of fishing to all of his children (sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren). Bill's favourite lake to visit was Sum Lake. Fishing excursions will not be the same without you Dad, but we will continue to carry on and add to those wonderful memories, with your grandchildren. Dad also loved taking road trips. Around the house Bill was a handy man. He enjoyed tinkering and creating. One of his many tinkerings included resurrecting old rejected lawnmowers that he found perhaps on a roadside or at a garbage dump. He would fix them up, and then give them to whoever needed one. Bill not only gave re-conditioned lawnmowers, he gave his heart to all. He spent many of his retirement days visiting with his friends in Winnipeg and Gimli, as well as his consistent numerous visits with his mom at Middle Church Home, and spending time with his grandchildren. We cannot forget Bill's daily walks with his two special canine girls Carmella and Molly. We're sure that Papa is now in heaven walking with Ginger and Patches. We have said a lot about our beautiful Bill, but it does not quite seem enough. It's difficult to put into words the love we feel in our hearts. How do you express such unconditional heartfelt love for a man who loved us all and gave to all? Always a smile. Always a hug. We all love him so much. Our hearts ache for him to be here talking with us, but our memories will continue to give us smiles. His grandchildren always knew that Papa was always available for a hug, or a lap to sit on and cuddle. Now they know that he will continue to watch over them and help to guide them through their lives. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with Pastor Edwin Wiebe officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

  • Karen & Family, We were so shocked to hear of Bill's passing. Although a lot of years have gone by, our Winnipeg friends remain near and very dear in our hearts. We had a lot of fun together. Miss those good old days. Bill was always someone everyone knew as such a "GOOD GUY". He was a kind and gentle person. He will be sadly missed. Wish we could be there with all of you, but know that you are in our thoughts during this difficult time. Our Love, Rod and Lesley Hazlehurst - Posted by: Lesley Hazlehurst (Friend) on: Jan 21, 2010
