LENA ANTOSH (nee PRESNIAK) 1922 - 2010 In the early morning hours of January 16, 2010, Lena Antosh (nee Presniuk) went to be with her Lord and Saviour. While we mourn the loss of our Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend who was the center of our world, we rejoice that she is free. Mom was born in Wroxton, SK in 1922 to Mary and George Presniuk. After the sudden death of her father when she was only five years old, Mom, her two sisters and three brothers faced life in the then unheard of situation of a single parent home. Times were extremely hard but, with the guidance, teachings and perseverance of her mother, our Mom learned the skills she needed to raise her own family. Lena married James Antosh in 1943 and became the wife of a railroad engineer with CN. As a couple, they were transferred to Melville, SK, The Pas, MB and then back again to Melville, where they eventually purchased an acreage outside of Yorkton, adding to their family as they went until they had increased their family by ten. Mom relied heavily on her experience and acquired skills as homemaker to overcome the constant challenges she faced, using her amazing talents ranging from seamstress and gardener to carpenter and upholsterer and everything in between. Besides her parents, Lena was predeceased by her husband, James, her son, Ernie, sisters: Rose Turetsky, Anne Huffman, brothers: Alex West and Frank Presniak. She is survived by her children Wes, Bev Guethert, Jeanne (wife of Ernie), Cheryl, Lorraine (Rolande), Wendy (Shael) Bassett, Marj (Brian) Bugara, Bryan, Karen (Corey) Herlevsen, Dennis (Denise), her brother, Sandy and Jean (wife of Frank) as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ... and her children arise and call her blessed... Prayers are Friday, January 22, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral is Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Roblin, Manitoba.
