DOROTHY BURCH It is with deepest sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend Dorothy Burch in her home on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the age of 82 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Fred, her sister Chris and niece Sheila. Mom leaves to mourn her passing her five children; Gail, Wayne (Chris), Donna (Bob), Freddie (Lois), Debbie (Craig); grandchildren Paul, David (Arianne), Annie, Mike (Tanya), Kenny (Amy), Kaylee, Jennifer, Ryan, Caitlin and Nicole; great-grandchildren Alex, Kamryn and Levi as well as great-nephew Neil (Lucia) and family. Mom was born in Scotland immigrating to Canada with her mother and sister at the age of three. She was raised in Winnipeg where she met her husband Fred Burch, they married in 1950. They raised their family of five in their house on Ashburn Street. Mom and dad established a strong relationship with an abundance of friends and neighbors that lasted a lifetime. Mom was a dedicated, loving mother, kind and gentle who would always give to others before herself. She adored her children and grandchildren having a special bond with her compassionate, devoted daughter Gail. They spent so much time together creating wonderful memories for Mom to cherish over the years. Included in these memories was Gail's much-loved cocker spaniel, Dana. Wayne's love and endless visits to help make Mom's life easier never went unnoticed (by both Mom and his siblings). In the early years Mom worked in the Toronto Dominion Bank, later working at Sears Polo Park where she retired after 20 years of service, always enjoying the friendships of her coworkers. Mom had a true passion for people. Mom, we all love you and your true optimism for a better tomorrow will remain in our hearts. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. We will always have a smile on our face for you. We will miss you forever. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
